ZoominKorea’s Hyun Lee discussed Trump’s recent visit to South Korea and the ongoing US-North Korea crisis on “By Any Means Necessary,” hosted by Eugene Puryear and Sean Blackmon on Sputnik Radio.
“North Korea’s goal is to set a negotiating table where it can negotiate with the United States as nuclear power to nuclear power. With the naval exercises in October, it appears the United States bungled what may have been its last chance at diplomacy before that happens,” Lee said.
Lee discussed the reason behind the breakdown in back-channel talks between the United States and North Korea, North Korea’s nuclear and missile program and the changed balance of power in the region, the upcoming U.S.-led war games, and Trump’s sales pitch for the U.S. defense industry on his Asia tour.
